Even worse news: it has sped up some, it's now a Cat 3, and is predicted to come ashore as a Cat2 now, still to our north. My best efforts at estimating the time and distance of closest approach of the center to La Manzanilla:

Friday early evening (7-9PM).
30 miles away as it passes to our northwest as a Cat 2 hurricane, heading for landfall up beyond Chamela a little ways.

This is earlier than predicted, and closer, so spread the word and get your stuff ready ASAP! Don't forget the power outage that almost certainly will happen once the rains get heavy.

This is shaping up to be very similar wind-wise to Jova. Still hoping for less than Jova's 12 inches of rain. The wind predictions for Barra are windier than the last update.

Keep in mind that La Manz is still within the error cone of the predicted track, which means that it could hit farther away, or right here.

I might miss my update early in the AM. I'll be back online when I can.
