Thanks Marcia for your question as I had a meeting today with Daira's family. So far they now have 16,000 pesos in hand. We counted up the amounts received through the bookstore and that brought another 5,000....and I have firm pledges for about 3,000 more, either in route or yet to be deposited. So that's 24,000...and there are folks that have contacted me with interest...so am just waiting to hear back from them. The surgery cannot be done until all the money is available to the hospital...so have my fingers crossed that this coming week we will reach that goal. Thanks again to all, we are so close...and when this is all said and done we will have a little party with chocolate cake as Daira has not been able to eat that for along time as it upsets her system.
