If you're interested in the fullsize high resolution download of the "2011 Hurricane Season in 4.5 minutes" video from NOAA, here it is (warning: over 600MB!): http://nereus.nesdis-hq.noaa.gov/animations/high_quality/104492_HurricaneSeason2011full.mp4 It's mesmerizing to watch an entire hurricane season's GOES satellite pictures, taken every 30 minutes, pass by in 4.5 minutes. They include labels for the Atlantic storms, but not ours here in the Pacific. Also, in the upper right they have a faint number that slowly changes from 6 thru 11. That's the month. At about 3:27 into the video (or month 10 and a quarter), you can see Hurricane Jova making landfall near us down in the lower left corner. |
