A few days after Invest 93 died out, it's getting busy down in the breeding grounds again. Invest 94 has a 60% chance of developing into a named storm in the next 48 hrs, and is way down south of Guatemala. It may strengthen and head toward southern Mexico (Chiapas) in the next few days: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/ep201294_model.html The NHC also shows an area of interest closer to us with a 20% chance of winning a name. I don't know if this is Invest 95 yet or not, or what direction it might head: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo_epac.shtml The monsoon trough is getting more active and bending more northwards toward us: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/tafb/PACFUL_06Z.gif So even without a named storm we might have a higher chance of "blobs" coming our way. |
