Volunteer Noe just informed me that La Huerta, due to election expenditures, is suspending gasoline and maintenance support to LM Proteccion Civil. These means that our local volunteer emergency support group will be operating on zero funding from La Huerta until two months after the new regime enters in September. La Huerta has never provided completely for our group. For instance they do not provide for medications, medical supplies or personnel. but any of their financial or material support has helped keep this crew going which runs on donations. We'll be pushing our 'Emergency Number' refrigerator magnet to help raise operating funds. This number connects you to help, whether for fire, police, vehicle accident or medical services. And it conveniently sits on your refrigerator so that you don't have to track it down when needed and you can take it with you wherever you go. Keep a look out for us and for only 20 pesos you'll experience peace of mind. (I really like seeing mine on the refer.) The magnets can also be found at our Mano a Mano Library.
