Kimberly has got it right on. These things are not fun to look at. And, when they get the hint that they are going to be squashed, man can they move FAST!!!! Lyle loves it when we get these on the walls. He tells everyone to sit back, get some coffee and let's watch Dad vs. Cronkala (rough spelling of what the locals call them) in the ultimate smack down. Of course I use a stiff bristle broom and I always win. But, as I steady the broom by them, I close that last 12" quickly or they are 5 ft. away in 2 seconds! They can pinch, or stings with the front legs and I've heard it can be a bit unpleasant. Yes, seeing one 3 inches across is not uncommon and I've heard tales of larger. SQUASH 'EM!!!! |
