I believe you want the Anik F1 satellite to get English programing (F2 is for French). There are tables available on-line for correct angles to aim the dish to for this area. Of course you can just read the angles off of someone else's Shaw dish. A satellite finder is helpful, too. According to Shaw - "The 60cm / 24 inch dish works for standard definition programming with acceptable signal (~70%) throughout Mexico, while the Shaw Direct 75cm satellite dish is required for high definition programming." We use a 60cm dish with a much lower signal than that recommended and it works just fine. Don't know about the non-Shaw dish. I think you need an eliptical dish, but that may only be to get Hi-Definition. |
