I think you want the town of Tapalpa. The town Elke and others are referring to is on the other side of Ajjic on the way to Patscuaro.

Tapalpa is absolutely lovely. The woman who owns La Paloma in Melaque can give you a full run down on it. I don't have Nancy's e-mail, but she is here and you can reach her by driving through the alley where the restaurant Maya is found. La Paloma is across the street. I don't think the art gallery is open, but the woman who will answer the bell can either give you a phone number or e-mail for Nancy.
