I bet there will be a bump up of security now - checkpoints on the 200 in Vallarta and even our area, more army and police patrols. A show of force to protect the tourist dollars. The increase in street crime seems to be more of an urban issue... And there may be economic reasons for that as well. The articles mention that the cartels are switching their emphasis more toward the Caribbean side-- let's hope that's true. |
