These stories remind me of my long ago teenage years. nothing to do: dial a random phone number: "Hello. This is the "electrical company". Sir/ma'am would you please assist us -- we have had a report of brown outs in your area. Could you please check your refrigerator and tell us if it is running?" pause "It is? Thank you, please make sure your front door is closed before it gets out on the street and causes a car accident." We have a phone number in La Manz. I'll be darned if I know what it is. The liklihood of anyone linking our phone number to our address is, I think, remote. Likely, these phone calls are modern versions af the random calls of my early teenage years. Jim |
