They do this on and off. Just smile big time and let them check. These kids are just following orders. Being really nice makes them relax and on you go. I found going over the top by opening glove compartment etc makes them really happy. They have been moving their posts for the 13 plus years we have lived here. Not to worry. Just smile. They are doing their job and have been told not to piss off the gringo.
