Being hungry and finding a ripe fruit tree in ones path, for instance, is to me a win/win situation. Launching a petition with Avaaz was for this reason: To bring awareness to the fact that people go hungry, whether one is hiking and hungry, or in a family, or from a region where adequate nutrition is difficult to come by, (for any number of reasons). For anyone who can plant food crops: Tree, bush, vine, close to one's house, where maintenance can occur, should alleviate some distress, in this field. This world wide endeavor, already established, in some regions, is not new. This petition is a reminder also of the joy, when one is hungry, of finding food. Who can help? For Jean, et al. |
