The season might be open and yes they are good to eat, but the lobster fisherman have no second thoughts about catching and selling the females that are full of eggs. Please don't buy ones that have clusters of red stuff under their tails. Those are the eggs and the locals need to get the message that it's not a good thing for the future populations of lobster in our bay.
