December Film Schedule at Casa Luz

We are pleased to offer another season of quality films to the community. Note the first showing starts at 7:30, all others at 7 pm.

Thursday December 6, 7:30 pm, Three short films:
The Legend of Old Razorback, In a mythical time in a mythical town a boy, lured by a bright red bicycle enters a mysterious barber’s web. About courage and perseverance.
Stormy Night, Alone in her room with her little dog, a girl braves a long blustery storm. She begins to look within and asks questions about life. Animated.
Blackwater Elegy, The loss of a close mutual friend threatens the sanctity of the one place on earth where J.T and Hollis feel safe: their favorite fishing hole.

Sunday December 9, 7 pm, Ayurveda, This feature length documentary takes us into the ancient world of Ayurveda, a method of healing practiced for centuries by trained practitioners of India. 102 minutes.

Sunday December 16th, 7 pm, Retreat, Set in Cape Cod, this film explores four brothers sibling relationships and childhood abuse in a way that is both palatable and heart expanding. 98 minutes.

Thursday December 20th, 7 pm, Half the Sky, Part 1, Take an unforgettable journey with six actresses/advocates and New Your Times journalist Nicholas Kristof to meet some of the most courageous individuals of our time who are doing extraordinary work to empower women and girls everywhere. Based on the book. 1 hour 56 minutes.

Sunday December 23, 7 pm, Christmas at Maxwell’s, This film is filled with family, heart and hope with a little of the miraculous. 110 minutes.

Thursday December 27th, 7 pm, Two short films,
Bicycles and Radios, The mystery of the film compels you to hang onto every nuance, while the exotic surroundings of this small Thai village fills your senses. 36 minutes.
Flirting with Death, In this fun and dark comedy, a man who is living a truly uninspired life, unexpectedly meets Death and she is gorgeous! 32 minutes.

Casa Luz is located at Boca Del Rio #75, one block south of the Jardin, around the corner from Hotel Puesta del Sol.
