ah budgets!...if you feel that $150.00 a month is "chump change" perhaps you are not in touch with the real native community here, it is NOT "chump change" to many who have grown up, lived their lives here and suffered great losses. We, most of us are all guests here in Mexico, let us accept our place here and if we feel the need to have such services go to where they already exist, but please do not think for one moment that many of the locals think of $150.00 a month as "chump change", that is an insult, we are guests, let us be gracious. Yes there are needs, no I do not have the answers, I respect the good hearts and sharp minds who seek the answers. I do know after many years in country that respect counts. So, neighbors, yes the trauma of loss has struck once again, was it a child dying in a mothers/ fathers arms before even a road to Melaque was built? No,but loss just the same and yes that has happened here many times over along with other illness or accident caused deaths. So please, your intentions are wonderful, difficult to implement perhaps but do consider for a moment, the perspective of the Mexicans who have lived and died, to raise their families and protect their town, not take away from them or burden them financially in ways so as to make La Manzanilla, the once simple little magical fishing town so many fell in love with just another "gringolandia". Try a town with all the facilities one feels important, they exist here in Mexico. As "guests" remember we are not allowed to be politicial, respectful requests sure, helpful asistance you bet ya but please remember this is THEIR town, THEIR country and THEY TOO HAVE SUFFERED GREAT LOSSES.......if this offends it is not my intention, just like to see a bit more intrest in protecting the LOCAL NATIVE COMMUNITY, not just supply what NOB is normal and expected for your tax dollars. There is a solution, folks are working toward it hopefuly with the NATIVE POPULATIONS NEEDS, REALITIES UPPERMOST in the conversation......how many times do mothers go the Central Salude and there are no meds??? all the "gear" and EMT training etc. for medical emergencies is here in Mexico just NOT in La Manzanilla nor likely to ever be up to northern standard,do you wish for want another Ajijic? with very few local natives living there??? or the gentle wonder of this costal village which captured our hearts.....thanks for any time given to these thoughts which are sent out with a good heart, to good folks trying to do the "right thing". All your good efforts are appreciated, may good things come to pass for us all and a solution/balance be found.
