Crunch the numbers and make rational judgments. When in doubt, crunch them again. It is 218 km (134 miles)from the PV airport to La Manz. Assume vehicle gets 30 mpg (Cdn Imperial gallon). Gasoline consumption 4.5 gallons (Imperial). Cost of Pemex gasoline $0.85/litre ($3.86 CDN gallon). Cost of gasoline to drive from PV airport to La Manz $3.86 x 4.5 = $17.37 Cdn. The 2012 Revenue Canada car operation allowance numbers (i.e. expenses allowed be Rev Can) for personally owned vehicles used for business are: $0.53 for the first 5,000 km --$.47km in excess of 5,000 km. The cost of operating a car for the 218 km from PV to La Manz (218 x $0.47) = $102.46. Read Tim's original post again. Jim |
