It started around 2:30am and continued until 3:30 or so. It was coming from somewhere across the bay towards Boca .
It certainly sounded like gunfire. The finale at 3:30 am sounded like a semi-automatic or machine gun.
We have a gun range not far out side of Nevada City and it sounded exactly like that.
Strange time of day to be target practicing.
