Next up on the sky-watching hit parade is a nice comet that will be visible to the naked eye for the next several evenings. Look low in the west as the sky gets dark in the evening for a small fuzzy blob with a short tail pointing upward. Since sunset here in La Manz is 7:07, I think the best time to see the comet might be from 7:30 to 8:00. And on Tuesday the 12th, it will be near a very young "fingernail" moon. That should be a pretty sight! Here is some more info: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/ataglance?pos=left PS, later this year in November/December comes a MUCH brighter comet (comet ISON), possibly the brightest in our lifetimes. Stay tuned! |
