Older Kids' Cooking Competition

At our house today was the final cooking class of the season for the older kids. It was the 2nd annual Concurso de Cocina - Cooking Competition - Boys team vs. Girls team. (The Boys won last year). Each team had their own kitchen, supplied with exactly the same ingredients. They made Pasta con Salsa Rosa, Ensalada con Aderessa Aguacate, and for dessert, Crepas con Fresas. They were marked on Appearance, Cleanliness, Teamwork, and of course Flavour. The two judges - Victor Amezcua of La Catalina, and Peggy Turner - had a difficult time picking a winner. It was very close, but finally, the girls WON this year by a slim 3 points! Prizes were awarded - new chefs knives for everyone! Thanks again to the kids who did a very responible job cooking and cleaning, and to Peggy and Victor for their excellent judging! Here is a photo of everyone at the end:
