How interesting this has all been; thank you, everyone, for your input--experiences, ideas, thoughts, readings,
et cetera. I have learned a lot and have decided to continue my usual treatment of produce when in Mexico and to improve my treatment of same when in Canada.
As I think back, now, on recalls of everything from dogfood to paint to car parts to canned and processed foods, it seems foolish to not take the greatest of care with that which is basic to us all--our nourishment. I will, therefore, continue to buy the best brand of tequila and to wash lettuce meticulously, no matter where I am! :o)
