Maria loved La Manzanilla and its people. She loved her home and family. She loved learning and art. I met her when she was recovering from dengue and stayed until she started walking again. At first she treated me like one of her children. As the years passed I became a friend. Sometimes she was bossy but when one is the mother of many, thats how it gets done. I admired her strength of character and her sense of justice. There will only be one, Maria Castelazo. I will look into the stars, Maria, and hope you are shining on me. Abide in the glow.
