Hi Robin...thanks for your compassion. When I left last March, there were problems Paloma was having, I believe with her kidneys (early kidney failure?) but she still was very active and happy. She became incontinent while with me and her appetite was either not interested or ravenous. When I returned home in March, I left a neighbor in charge of feeding her, but it didn't work out. Complications due to the owner. She also was hit by a car after I left and Kate took her to the vets. She managed to recover somewhat. Kate watched over her till she left for Oregon in July. Cruz, my other neighbor also lent a helping hand feeding her. I'm not sure so far how she died, but I suspect from what I heard that she got very skinny which says to me that she needed more care and attention. It's very tragic because I know that she would have lived much longer had I still been there.
