Don't know if you saw the thread about donating bikes to La Catalina foundation auction.

You can buy good quality aluminum frame bikes in El Norte for very cheap on Craigslist for example. Get them packaged by a bike shop in a Cardboard box to put on the plane.

Better bike for you, and the money goes to help students in La Manz. Search for the thread for more information.
