Thanks Norma, but the problem is getting the kids to wear running shoes. We had a lot of shoes donated and the kids still showed up in flip flops or barefoot. Some habits are very hard to break, and new "habits" seemed very strange to them, especially to the younger kids. |
The older kids (senior division) do wear them, most of the time, but we even have some of them who prefer to be barefoot. Seems to me that these kids have heard of "Shoeless Joe Jackson", lol
We do have a medical kit, on site, for minor cuts & scrapes. Alcohol on a cut seems to impress the fact that shoes would prevent this, only time will tell!
