We purchased tickets a week in advance during Christmas week in Melaque on the Cihuatlan line for PV. That is always the way friends travel back to PV from here. The day we were to leave (9:30am) we arrived and they returned our money saying the bus was cancelled. Primera Plus, across the street had added one at 10am, but that was full. We had to settle for a 10:15 second class bus. That turned out to be an unfortunate adventure with too many stops, one bus change and a snack stop for the driver. It took 6 hours to get to PV and there was standing room only from Tomatlan to PV. Otherwise, the Cihuatlan line is an excellent.
