Easy Larry, it is just a discussion. Here is a quote from the one article
you linked to "FAA says pilots have reported 15 close calls with small rogue
drones near airports in the past two years". How many flights have there been
in the US in the past two years? "On any given day, more than 87,000 flights
are in the skies in the United States". 87 thou times 730 days = 63 million flights.
What percentage of 63 million is 15? Zero to the power of ten.
Here is a link to an article about California legislation. You can see that it talks about legislating before it becomes a major problem. If you would have posted "use of these little machines has (the potential to) become a major invasion of privacy (issue)" (parentheses mine) then I probably would not have questioned that part of your post.
I was using the government invasion of privacy as a comparison to that of quadcopters.
It was the most extreme example that came to mind, I could have used the paparazzi.
Here is an interesting link on privacy. It is much more than just someone checking out your back yard.
