It is easier and you get a better rate from your bank in the US for pesos. You also save the fee you have to pay Banamex (unless you bank with the US bank that owns them). Additionally, if you ask you bank to send you smaller denominations or 'mixed" the merchants like it because when you use the ATM, you get mostly $500p bills. LM is an all cash economy and many of the vendor/merchants can't break a $500p bill for a $30p purchase. I think you can rent snorkel stuff at CATO. They will also take you on a trip. LM is an easy place in which to have a fabulous time.
