ArtWalk 2015 would like to thank the community of La Manzanilla for supporting this event in our 7th year.

Because of the generous donations made by many of the "walkers", the business sponsors and by each participating artist, the event raised 13,426 pesos after expenses. Included in this amount is 6,026 pesos (net after expenses) from donation jars, a private donation of 1400 pesos, 5,000 pesos from sponsor donations, participant fees and t-shirt sales.

Art Walk is a non-profit community-based organization comprised of locally-based artists and artisans. All participating members pay a fee to be part of the event. 100% of these fees, after promotional expenses, are donated to support locally-based art programs for children in La Manzanilla. The funds are used solely for the purchase of supplies and equipment, and not for administrative costs or instructor fees.

This year a large number of children and youths were involved in raising these funds. This included manufacturing ArtWalk fridge magnets, distribution of promotional materials, attending the donation jars, assisting visitors attending Art Walk and setting up childrens' art displays at the Ejido building. Their work was co-ordinated by the La Catalina Educational Foundation, a non-profit organization that conducts after-school art programs for local children and art scholarship programs in the public schools. As well, an art contest was held in each La Manzanilla school, in which many children eagerly participated to have their work exhibited on Art Walk day.

The distribution of the net donations is as follows:
1. 6026 pesos to the after-school programs for the purchase of supplies and equipment, including a class set of art easels made by a local woodworker.
2. 1400 peso private donation towards the purchase of materials/supplies for the scholarship art program that is being provided by artist volunteers.
3. 5000 pesos for other community-based art programs for the purchase of supplies and materials.

Applications for these funds are now being accepted. Application forms are available from Pam Field by contacting pagepamala@yahoo.ca or calling 351-7465. The deadline for applications is 4:00 pm on February 16.
