Hi. No news on the IMSS side. However there is news on the Seguro Popular side. Chisme has it that the Cihuatlan hospital will be finished as a state of the art hospital serving the whole region. It has allied with US Johnson and Johnson, the pharmaceutical company, and a US hospital. And that this should happen quickly (we don't hold our breath). the other bit of information is that any temporary or permanent resident is eligible for free medical care at the Melaque clinic and this hospital. Getting a card is easy. So, Bret, you might consider this. For me the clinic service in Melaque has been very good. Granted I haven't dealt with anything really, really serious except dengue. People, locals and visitors both, report that the Clinica Popular service is the same or better than IMSS service. I don't know this first hand. Just a thought, Cruz |
