Interesting thread! We rode our bikes down the dirt road by the lagoon towards Boca before the three days of torrential rain. The smell coming from the lagoon at a few places along the road was horrible and a long long way from the entrance. It smelled just like sewage , however, we were told that the mangrove gives off an awful smell sometimes. We were nowhere near the man hole at the entrance. Just an observation......
