Beach New Year

I can't imagine any NY Eve celebration more special than last night's beachside festivities here in La Manzanilla. The combined effect of globos, fireworks, beach fires, lights, moon, stars, local personalities, campsights, music, waves, tequila and sangria made it one of those unique experiences of a lifetime. I love how dozens of separate celebrations came together to create an overall pageant that was both spontaneous and spectacular. I brought together photos I took as well as my impressions of the evening and thought perhaps some might be interested in seeing how a first-time La Manzanilla New Year reveler has viewed your very special way of welcoming in the next year. If you would like to view my impressions, go here:

Nice! Love both the photos and your essay! I can almost hear the warm waves roll in all the way up here in cold Missouri.

We missed you on New Years and every night at the sunsets. Are you ever coming back? Glad you enjoyed the festivities in absentia, you agoraphobic you! The beach would bleach that out of you!! Happy New Year. Sorry none of the photos of the revelries included your face.

Were you there, Penny? Did you find your particular celebration point in my pictures? I loved the one of the two women embracing so joyfully, one in a green dress, but I don't know who they were. Perhaps someone else does.
