Any recommendations for *** hotel near bus terminal in Puerto Vallarta arriving from Toronto Friday jan .16. Want to take early bus on 17 for La Manzanilla.thank you
Here's an idea, Jocelyn, I think if you are arriving early enough to enjoy spending the evening in the so-called old town, you could stay at Hotel Casiev, at the top of Basilio Badillo.
It's inexpensive, clean, secure, etc., and then you can probably catch an early bus from the corner of Aguacate and Carranza, just a few blocks away... it's a smaller bus terminal, and most of the buses going south stop there.
Does anyone else have more info about this option?
I have used the downtown option a couple of times and it is probably the most fun. Other options in the airport area include Comfort Inn, I think there is a Holiday Inn express or my current airport favorite the One Airport Vallarta which is with in walking distance of the airport terminal if you do not have too much luggage. It is a business hotel on the European model. Very clean and utilitarian no charm at all. All of these are with in walking distance of the marina for dinner. I have also heard mixed reviews of a place called Hotel La terminal right by the bus terminal but I have not tried it. I guess it comes down to your budget and comfort level. Good luck safe travels

Hi there. My experience is that the Primera Plus (first class bus) leaves PV at approximately 8:00 am and goes to Melaque without a stop in LM. If you wait until later the 2nd class bus stops only on the hwy (LM) and does not enter the village and took six horas. Trust me, you don't want that one!! The last time I rode the latter both the toilets were overflowing and sloshing all over the so called restrooms in the rear. primeraplus.com is where you can make a reservation, highly recommended
A great place to stay in the romantic zone and only a half dozen blocks to the bus pickup point at Aguacate & Carranza is the infamous Posada Roger. Cheap and quaint, with a great breakfast place next door and lots of restaurants around.
You might find this link below helpful. I think you would probably want to catch the 7:00 Primera first class, which wouldn't get to the downtown pickup until about 8:00 or maybe a bit before. Another good reason to stay in the romantic zone overnight - it means a shorter bus ride from there to Melaque. Of course, I'm sure you know that there's local buses from Melaque to LM (or taxi not too expensive either really). However we usually take the Transportes Cihuatlán 1st class on the way back as it leaves at a good time out of Melaque. Buen viaje!!
Thanks everyone for the info but no one has told me the name of the hotel.I can't find the actual name to make a reservation. From the bus terminal I have seen the hotel but I don't have the name.Have any of you just arrived without a reservation?I have taken the bus that you so well described that stopped everywhere.I will try very hard to get the more direct bus; last time I arrived too late .
