snorkeling at Tenacatita

Recently arrived in La Manz, my husband and I would like to try snorkeling at Tenacatita (aquarium?) What would be the best way to get there: taxi or a panga? If we take a taxi approx. how much would it cost? I have seen posts about guards and whether they will let you in, also directions to get to the best snorkeling spot. If we took a panga on a snorkel trip, who could we contact. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

For a panga, go to El Cato Restaurant on the beach in La Manz

We took a taxi and it was 400 pesos round trip. He dropped us off and came back 2 or 3 hours later. While there, a panga arrived with folks from La Manz. I asked and was told they also paid 400 pesos!

Hi Nancy: That would be great if we could get together. We are available any day this week - leaving on Thursday. What works best for you? Are there palapa restaurants at Tenacatita? We are pretty pale and won't be able to take too much sun. Hope to hear from you and thanks, Jennifer

There is some shade but no more restaurants or restrooms. Take everything you'll need.

I like snorkeling off the rocks at the end of the main beach. Just as many fish and deeper, safer water and easy to get to.
