What a shame about the latest causeway. Was that the 3rd or 4th to get washed away?

This season had the most washouts at the lagoon than we have ever seen. I must say though, living here on the other side, we don't mind: having a crocodile infested waterway between us and the town is a great security feature

I have to say that following your wonderful pictures and video is one big reason I look forward to visiting the message board on a weekly basis. Judy and Rob and others .... you too !

I'm feeling secure too but wondering how we're going to get out of here or be able to go to town as we are staying at Castillo Chaluda. We drove our car in over that causeway yesterday.

Is there another way across this? Is the footbridge open?

The suspension bridge is open, so you can walk or bike easily. You can drive the back road around to Boca de Iguanas. There will be some big puddles - a high clearance vehicle would be best...
