A few years ago Lew L and I were sailing in the bay and crossed over a mass of the larger clear/white jelly fish. We stopped and did some counting. There were 10-15 per cubic meter and we could see at least 4 meters down. We sailed the length and width of the swarm and estimated (Lew in addition to being the captain is a physitist) the school to be a kilometer square. You do the math...... They would be very visible from above.
