Just wanted to let everyone know that I was diagnosed with this just this week. It is another mosquito-borne disease first found in Mexico in Oct. 2014. It can be extremely debilitating and its symptoms can persist a full year. To find out what this is, just Google it.
I was very lucky and have an extremely mild case. In fact, I am wondering if what I have is really dengue given how quickly the worst symptoms passed.
Two of my neighbors also had dengue or chik v in the weeks before I became ill. They went to the Centro de Salud and this led to the house to house spraying they do for dengue. Bret went to report my case there, and was told I would have to come for anti-body testing to confirm my diagnosis before they would spray.
So, two points
1) Don't get bit. Dengue is bad enough, but chik v can be worse. If you want to hear one woman's experience with a severe case, go here:

2) If you do get bit and get sick, go to the Centro de Salud for diagnosis and reporting. It's free to all and the only way to get the state to spray to kill the mosquitos around your home so you cannot spread the disease to other mosquitos and on to other people.
