It was about 8:30 in the morning, and Ray had just made bait, a number of lisa, aka mullet. Having shaken them out of the net, and inviting his fellow fisherman to share the bait, he spotted the swirl of a large dark fish just past the surf. Quickly preparing his rig, he went after his quarry.
A long cast, and another swirl. Ray waited patiently as the fish peeled line off the reel, then set the hook with a mighty pull, and began to bring the Robalo(Snook)to the beach in short order.
Ray reported 10.5 kilos, or 22+ pounds, weighed at the cooporativa.
Nice.
