The current track of the eye is to the north of La Manz--this is not good! Circulation around a hurricane in the northern hemisphere is counterclockwise so that winds for locations to the south of the eye will be onshore, worst possible situation! I was in Biloxi for hurricane Opel in 1995, even though the eye was close, we were on the "good" side and suffered little damage, whereas Pensacola to the east got clobbered!
Good luck to all who choose to stay! Wonder what will happen to the crocs with a large storm surge?
