Many of us foreigners are likely anxious to join with our Mexican friends and neighbours in rebuilding the community.
Money, of course, will be required by many who need to purchase building materials, particularly for those things that are needed to provide basic shelter.
What, of course, is required is people who are presently there and who can determine what the needs are, how to collect funds and how to distribute them.
An unknown at this time is likely the knowledge of what the federal and state governments are going to provide in terms of relief. When that is known, local fundraising can fill in the gaps.
While greater minds than mine are needed to do this, I will volunteer to help and donate when I arrive there in 12 days.
One suggestion though. Since it may be difficult to send and receive money at this time, perhaps people could "pledge" funds that could be given at a later date. That way, there would be some idea of what would be coming available down the road.
