I found this video and it suddenly looked familiar. Happens to be of the back yard of the place we're renting this winter (we hope!). It's Casa del Limon out towards the crucero, which is rented out by La Manzanilla Homes. Perhaps it's the owners of the property taking the video, but if not, can someone who knows them, please forward this link to them. I believe the owners are Gary and Dyan, I think from the Comox Valley on Vanc. Island. | ------------------------Re: Photo Feeds

Had to put the chicken picture up, made me smile even knowing we lost so much. This is what the beach side of my Casa looks like. Inside is trashed.

Behind the office

Beach North
Generator across the street from the office, its actually pretty quiet, looks like a brand new one.
Town North from my office, not much to see, looks almost normal. Sorry for the crapy photos, making do so not up to my usual.

Daniel Glad you & the cat are ok. Lots of miracles. Excellent photos & Thanx for all. Do you know if we still have a house to sell? So far nothing heard about the beach houses between Quinta Valentina & the cemetary. Any ideas? We'd appreciate any word. We are on our way there via Las Vegas, Mexico City Manzanillo & La Manz as long as the flights go as planned. Waiting with bated breath. Sorry about everyone's losses. Does anyone have word about the roads from Manzanillo airport to La Manz? THANX AGAIN . | ------------------------Re: below

Hi Walter, I talked to Paul yesterday, he said you got hit pretty hard, glass broken, ocean inside. Perhaps someone will go have a look. Would you want the photos emailed to you or is on the message board ok? | ------------------------few more

I had to go see Felipe and get some computer parts so took a few more. Here he is working on his place
Pino wants these photos for the Governor.
That is a machete in his hand, strange tool for the artist he is. He said it took them a day to clear the path from the street to the restaurant.
Boca's street, by the chicken place
Up Concha Molida
The Lagoon street, yes the manhole is a fountain.
Quinta Valentina, so sad.
The Lagoon
Unless someone specifically ask for a certain photo I won't be doing any private shots, I didn't like how I felt on a couple of those above. My office is the first time I have been in a disaster like that and I closed it up best I could to stop the photos. If I wanted someone to see my office or take a photo I opened it for them. I understand the need to know what is happening and don't fault anyone for that. But there is something cannibalistic about the "news", where is line of compassion? I think we all know the answer to that, its tripping a refugee for a photo op.

You are so right Daniel, and I am surprised no one has commented on your words. We, on the outside looking in, are all being callous of everyone's feelings who went through this very intense ordeal. Unfortunately, those of us sitting in the comfort of our homes, in a world where media sensationalism is a huge part of life in general, we forget and crave to feel the enormity of the tragedy that everyone in LM is feeling...in every detail. I am so sorry that your privacy has been invaded by our selfishness for photos & information...we are all wrong, but on the flip side....this is also our home and we want to weep with you...for we are all feeling loss. Thanks for doing such an above and beyond job during the hurricane. Whether you wanted to or not, you are once again a hero for our little hamlet. Cheers--

I walked the beach road today to check Walter and Christine's, here are a few photos, I won't post Walter and Christine's I sent them to him by email. Their place had the glass doors blown out, someone has done a so so job of closing it off. I also took some of the trailers, some are ok others are messed up pretty bad. The big fifth wheel seems to have made it without harm. If you have interest in those email me. The beach homes looked much much better than I had expected, I didn't see any that had any bad damage. Chico, had the restaurant right by the Lagoon got totally destroyed, he was there working when I went by, I stopped and gave him the sentiments of all. This is looking back to the wood bridge, each place there is no home sand came across the road usually less than a foot deep.

Dear Nansee, Betsy and I are so sorry to hear/see the damage to Casa Luz--and to so many other beloved places in La Manz. Please let us know how we can help restore this and other beautiful spaces and resources there. Is there a way set up yet for us and others to sent financial support for people and places in need? We'll be down mid-january.
