This is not in response to the US/Mexican citizenship, but in a way, it does show that you need a GOOD Mexican lawyer. I was born in France, moved to Canada in 1952, became a Canadian citizen in 1957, and moved to the US in 1964. In 1975 I became a US citizen, and both my children lost their Canadian citizenship, unbeknown to them. When my daughter wanted to moved to Canada (from Switzerland where she was living with her husband) she discovered that she was not a Canadian. Together, we sued the Canadian government, and after 20,000 dollars, we won. My daughter, Magali, and a guy from BC, Don Chapman formed the lost Canadians group, and together they obtained Canadian citizenship for thousands of people, who like my daughter did not realize they had lost their citizenship. All that to tell you that you need a GOOD citizenship lawyer to get you through the maze of bureaucracy. And they don't come cheap. Good luck, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
