If your Weber is like mine, you cannot change the hookup without disabling the gas-flow control, or at best limiting its range in an exasperating way. Make sure that someone confirms that you will still have complete control if you, for example, hook your Weber up to your main LP tank.
As to getting a regular tank with a Weber-friendly connector you can probably buy one at Tio Sam's in Puerto Vallarta. Call first. If they don't have one, they can order one for you. Be prepared to spend around $1000 pesos for it. At least they normally sell them filled. I have two Weber tanks, and I thought about the possibility of giving one up. But I have been saved too many times by being able to swap out the empty tank to be able to consider life with only one. Good luck.
