Costco Dog Food might be a bit hard to get. The nearest Costco to La Manzanilla is in Puerto Vallarta, 200 km and about 4 hours by car north of here. Many of us who don´t cook our own dog food like Norma buy Mar´s America Pedigree. It is not a ¨Premium¨ dog food but, unless you have special health considerations that require a specialty food, it seems to do the trick. It is available by the kilo in almost every abarrotes (ma and pa grocery store). Prices vary a lot as does the freshness of the food. We pay $33 pesos a kilo from Yerina on María Asunción just before the school. That´s a good price and she sells a lot of it, so it is fresh. Veterinarians carry some of the pricier dog foods, usually only in smaller bags. They can run three or four times as much per kilo as Pedigree or even more. There is a Walmart in Manzanillo, about an hour drive south of La Manz. They carry a small variety of brands. You might find something that strikes you or your pocketbook as being ¨Premium¨ there. Google Pedigree and you will find a lot of information about it.
