Cheaper if you take the Airport taxi to Chiuatlan and change to a local taxi to La Manz | ------------------------Re: taxi cost from ZLO

765 pesos is what they quoted at the airport. We got a ride from the airport with a friend from Barra and taxi from there to La Manzanilla for 250 pesos. | ------------------------Re: taxi cost from ZLO

You can also have the taxi take you to the Chitualin bus station and take a bus for about 10 pesos to Melaque. If you come in after 5pm then another taxi, but it is about half the price. If you have lots of luggage not a good idea found the bus part. | ------------------------Re: taxi cost from ZLO

I received email questioning what taxis were "Airport" taxis. My understanding is any taxi you take FROM the airport has paid a fee for the right to pick people up there. This fee gets passed on, of course, and the entire trip is charged at a higher rate. The shorter you make the "Airport Taxi" trip, the less you will pay. As stated above, getting to Chiuatlan as cheaply as possible and switching to a bus is the way to go. That's what I do but I travel light. When buses aren't available, negotiate with a local taxi. Because there is no other (public) option for getting off the airport grounds, unless you can arrange a "private" solution, you are stuck with the taxis. Therefore the tradeoff between money and convenience should be considered. | ------------------------Re: taxi cost from ZLO

It also depends on how many people take the taxi. The regular taxi takes only 3 people, 4 if you're lucky and small, if there are more than 4 people, the have to take a bigger car. This is why the fare for 5 people is more than for 3 people. Eh, this is Mexico, don't argue with the logic. Buen Viaje | ------------------------
