Bring a chainsaw to Mexico

Just wondering if anyone has tried to bring a brand new chainsaw down to Mexico in their checked luggage. Or, has anyone bought a chainsaw in Melaque? Preparing to do some cleaning up on our lot. | ------------------------Re: Bring a chainsaw to Mexico

They sell them here, also. | ------------------------Re: Bring a chainsaw to Mexico

Yes, I brought a brand new chainsaw in it's own hard plastic carrying case via WestJet, Victoria/Calgary/ZLO on November 22. No problem whatsoever. Just let them know it is for hurricane relief in La Manz. They did not charge me for extra baggage or for the extra suitcase I also brought for hurricane relief. Just label the items Hurricane Relief. As long as the chainsaw is brand new and has never had gas in it you should be good to go, at least with WestJet. | ------------------------Re: Bring a chainsaw to Mexico

Usually the issue is gas and or oil fumes. If it is brand new and has never had gas or oil in it it is more likely to fly but check first. | ------------------------Re: Or hire a local with a moto sierra

There are skilled workers in our community who have moto sierras and will be grateful for the work. I use Aaron or Marcos Brambila for forestry type work. Very pleasant young men with English skills, hard working and reliable. Rojo | ------------------------
