Dogs in front of Figaro's

I just heard that someone had reported them to the delegado. This is very serious as they will take them out and kill them. We have invested a lot of money in having the 3 females spayed and are arranging to have an Adoption Day soon. The Doberman belongs to the Rutherford's and in my opinion shouldn't be running loose. She is a nice dog, but folks are intimidated by her size and it just adds another dog to the pack. She needs to be walked on a leash twice a day, and if she is at the beach she needs her owner to play with her and stay in the yard the rest of the time. In my opinion why have a dog if you're just going to let her run free and risk her being run over, stolen or hurt some little kid or someone's pet? The others are being fed and are very nice dogs and we hope to have a solution soon. If anyone is interested in taking one of them to Canada, we can arrange it and have someone meet you. I took a black dog to Canada 2 years ago and 3 people wanted her. Mexican dogs are the best! | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

I should be more specific about who the owner of the Doberman is: Irlanda (Landy) Rutherford. The Doberman is the biggest problem at the beach during the day as it is un-neutered and less than a year old and needs to be on a leash or kept at home. It scares the vendors and chases after kids. It is the one that has been complained about to the delegado. It should not be at the beach on its own! We all need to let her know the seriousness of this situation and that she needs to be a responsible pet owner or her dog will be taken away by the authorities. | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

Norma...why not contact Ada and let her know people's feelings towards the dog? She can then talk with her daughter...I assume! | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

Barry, I didn't think you were in La Manzanilla this year to make such an observation. Vulgarity and threats do nothing to contribute to this discussion. If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything. Why bother? Are you that bored and grumpy? What are you doing to make the world betterr? | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

I saw the 4 dogs this morning when walking the beach and they all approached a fellow walking and all started barking at him, some folks called them off, but I left the beach and walked home on the street, Later in the afternoon they were fine, not bothering anyone even near the beach volleyball and children. Hard to predict what they'll do! | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

The main problem is the doberman from what I hear. No one is looking after it and it roams free. And appears to be very skinning. A disaster waiting to happen. The other dogs are well mannered and all it takes is one idiot dog. | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

Landy's doberman comes down every morning on its own unsupervised and starts a ruckus. I came down tonight and it was running around the tables at Pedro's bothering people with thei dogs on leash. It is too big to be chasing around and who's going to pick up the poop. The mellow female dogs that we spayed at Figaro's are not the problem. The doberman is the problem and the owner needs to take responsibility or find it a home with someone who has the time to train it. Makes me crazy when people get a cute puppy, but then discard it when it becomes a problem. It appears to be locked out of their yard. One bad apple giving the rest of them a bad name. | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

It's interesting...all the chatter here does not solve the problem. Norma if you know the owners go and talk with them before this becomes a bigger issue.

I think this issue has been handled very undiplomatically and in poor taste. When there is an issue one usually goes to the source of the problem which in this case would be the owner of the dog that is causing all the upset. At least in this way the situation is first given a chance to resolve itself without threats, recriminations and bad mouthing! And only then if there are no positive changes, one takes the next step. Plus there was no need whatsoever to bring up names especially on a public forum! Such righteous and underhand behavior does not belong in this community and I believe an apology is due to Irlanda. | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

Okay, I am sorry Irlanda. I could be mistaken, but the cranky threat by Beer Barry was not towards your dad, but rather for another Dave who lives on the second floor. There was a complaint about your dog at the Delegado and the person thought the Doberman belonged to Pino as it comes there every day all day I went to your house and looked all over town for you to talk to you. It is a serious matter as they could disappear all those dogs. The other dogs are fed and well cared for and monitored. And most importantly for beach goers, their poop is being picked up. We have spent thousands of pesos having them spayed and they are loved. I would like to private message you. The big issue is your dog is creating havoc at the beach every day, putting all the other dogs at risk and making it difficult for other people with dogs on leash or at restaurants and it is risky for older folks and children being knocked over. If you want assistance in finding him another home, I will help. | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

My dog has a home. I'll deal with him, he does not bring trouble to any of you, it's just a dog, things are different here in Mexico, I don't see you telling mexicans to clean their shit up, Norma you always see me on the streets and never said nothing to me,you know where I live!!! I think putting my name posting my name was a bad Idea, I feed my dog, he has a troubled stomach and he's being taken care off. | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

i think everyone involved is trying their best to resolve this issue....There are two sweet female spayed dogs that are homeless...the other dogs have homes...we on the beach try to care for these lovely creatures, but need help in finding them homes before they are dealt with in more hurtful ways...please,lets all put more of a positive spin on all of this and perhaps we can work together to find them homes....i know there are those of us more than willing to help with food, transportation, vet checks, etc. if there might be someone out there with a caring heart that could offer a nice home to one (or both) of these beautiful dogs....its not their fault they are in such a situation..and i do agree with Daniel that its the Pack Mentality that can cause problems... | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's

If anyone is flying Westjet to Victoria, Vancouver or Comox, I will arrange to have the dogs picked up at the airport and I will take them to my place. All that is involved is $75 airline fee and $35 Canada Customs. If the plane goes through Calgary, you need to pick the dog up and take it through Customs and claim on your customs card that you are bringing in an animal. A couple of years ago I brought an extra dog back and put it on our island Facebook page and 3 people wanted her! She was found at the Dump by the guy who drives the dumpster and is now happily loved and treasured. The best thing is to check whether there is room for your dog on the flight(1 888 937 8538)and if you change your mind the fee is refundable. They only need a rabies shot 10 days ahead of the flight and I have some of those in my fridge here and Beto will sign the card. Or Rocio if she is back in time. You will not regret this act of kindness and we doglovers will be ever so thankful. I am taking my two and an extra back when I leave on March 4. By the way, the Delegado said the dog that people were most concerned about was the Doberman as it is the one scaring the vendors and the older people and it was mistakenly thought to belong to Figaro's. | ------------------------Re: Dogs in front of Figaro's
