Of course it's not the same, can you name a place in the world that
is the same as it was in 1974? The only thing constant is change.
The last place I lived for 15 years had changed so much from what it was
when I moved there that it was time for me to go. But for those who had just
arrived it was perfect. 15 years later they are the ones to say it has changed
so much from what it was when they moved there it is time for them to go. Rinse repeat.
Shifting baselines. No matter what it was in 1974, 84, 94, 2004 the scene here
in La Manzanilla still works for me big time, in fact I would say it's better
than it was when I first got here. Take the last hour, calm ocean, low tide,
crecent moon setting, live Otmar Libert style music in the background,
parents with children and free sprirts dancing on the beach, Frisbee, free dogs,
excellent cigar, worlds finest Tequila, friends, peace, peace, peace.
How good can you stand it?
