Just a suggestion. My husband...the Robin of Vicki and Robin...felt sick for several weeks and finally went to the doctor in Melaque. He wisely took a "sample" with him so he didn't have to come back the next day with said "sample". The laboratory had the results to us via email that same evening. If we cared to, we could have emailed them home (to our doctor in Canada), but we're happy with Dr. Ernesto.
He (Robin) returned for the results today and it turned out he has an infection (already treated but not well enough) and parasite (again, treated). The first diagnoses were by guess and by golly, via two lovely doctors in Puerto Vallarta. He now has the appropriate medicines and should be feeling better in a couple of days.
Ergo, I recommend that, if you're sick in a GI way, go get the lab work asap and you'll actually know what you're dealing with and won't have to tough it out until you can't. (The lab in Melaque sells the vials for the samples if your mustard containers are not as appealing as the "real" thing.)
Vials may = business opportunity for someone here.
All the best to my ill friends. This too shall pass!
Vicki (Robin is sleeping well and on his way to recovery.)
