Thanks Carol, for taking the time to check out the fish solution, that is already working beautifully in other poor communities throughout Latin American and Haiti. I'll be talking more about how we can get started with a fish project here, with my brother Bill soon. He is the one who has been introducing/implementing this method internationally-initially in New Orleans, after Katrina in 2005 and in Haita after their major earthquake in 2010 . Since then, mainly to poor communities in El Salvador, Mexico and soon Honduras, all places where the mosquito carried illnesses are realities that need to be better controlled. I have had dengue, while living here in La Manzanilla in '94 and do NOT want to ever repeat that or any similar experience. During the last year, Felipe (my husband) and I have talked with a number of locals (including principal people in El Ejido, Delegation El Cocodrilo and Centro de Salud) about the fish idea and everyone thus far has been enthusiastic and very interested in having these fish at work here in our community. I imagine we could make this a reality sometime this summer. And by the time you all get back next season (we are here year round) we could be distributing little bags of Gambusia fish - to introduce to your tinacos, water gardens and swimming pools. Who knows, those nasty spray trucks (for which I personally am grateful) could even become a thing of the past. Judy Horan
