When: Wednesday Jan.18, 9:15-10:30 am
Where: Casa Luz, #75 Boca del Rio
What: Yankadi dance translated as "it's good to be here"
From the Susu people of Guinea West Africa, Yankadi dance is a seduction/courting dance. The 'flowing' nature of Yankadi lends itself to graceful movements. You can really 'feel' the rhythm in this dance expressing what I love about West African dance - moving out of the mind and into the body.
It is an hour and fifteen minute class that will include a warm up and learning Yankadi.
A class for all levels, I will breakdown the movements and provide low and high intensity movement choices!
What a joy to bring this music and dance to La Manz!
About me: I've been dancing and performing West African Dance for 8 years in Victoria BC and have also had the joy of travelling to Guinea to study drum and dance.
Email me if you have any questions
See you next week!123
